#664 Firewire HD Enclosure using Genesys chip

I'm running kernel 2.6.11.4-21.9 from SuSE 9.3.

Has anyone else had this problem? The device takes DAYS
to do anything useful (and mostly something else dies
in the process). To solve different problem - where
everything really locked up - I've added "options sbp2
sbp2_serilize_io=1" to modules.conf.

Now I get an endless list of:

scsi3: destination target 0, lun 0
command: Write (10): 2a .. .. .. .. .. ..
ieee1394: sbp2: aborting sbp2 command

Which eventually stops when the "work" is complete or I
run out of patience.

This device works FINE under Windows XP !!!!!

Can anyone help? Or tell me what diagnostic info might
help?
