Hardware: Dell Precision 360 WS n series with intel
pentium 4. Keyspan firewire pci adapter card FPCI-3N is
recogized in /proc/pci as a Texas Instruments .... IRQ
5 ...There is stuff in the file /etc/rc.sysinit related
to firewire. No ieee1394 or ohci1394 or sbp2 driver is
present. When an Adaptec or the Keyspan card is
removed there is a notification. The Linux is Red Hat
Enterprise 3. The current kernel is 2.4.21-15.0.3.ELsmp
(or 2.4.12-15.0.3.EL). Upon downloading and unzipping
libraw1394-0.10.1, I tried "make xconfig" and "make
menuconfig". Result, error message, "no rule to make
target". I do not know how to invoke the Code maturity
level options, etc. One command, autoconf, did run, but
I don't know what it did. I can view the source code
for the various files downloaded from libraw1394. We
are attempting to connect a LaCie 120 GB hd to the
workstation. --Jack Schmidt, U. Ky. CSB
