I've been unable to get sbp2 to recognize my Pioneer
DVR-SK12D DVD burner with a login failure. I am
running the 2.6.7 kernel.
I am able to capture video over the firewire card, so
it appears ok. I've used the burner on a Windows box,
so I believe that hardware is ok as well. "gscanbus"
recognizes the drive but rescan-scsi-bus.sh does not.
I've tried various permutations of sbp2 module
parameters to no avail.
I also have a working HP CD writer in the machine, but
removing it seemed to make no difference.
dmesg output (after modprobe -r sbp2 && modprobe sbp2):
sbp2: $Rev: 1219 $ Ben Collins <bcollins@debian.org>
scsi4 : SCSI emulation for IEEE-1394 SBP-2 Devices
ieee1394: sbp2: Error logging into SBP-2 device - login
timed-out
sbp2: probe of 00e036000290076c-0 failed with error -16
I've also noticed that there's no /proc/bus/ieee1394
directory. There was under 2.4.26. (I upgraded
kernels in an attempt to get the drive working.)
