I found some of the old Intel docs and presentations to be quite informative, ftp://ftp.austin.ibm.com/pub/chrptech/1394ohci/, especially 1394ovw.PDF. More rather technical info on specific topics is on http://developer.intel.com/technology/1394/ and http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/xpapers/pc98/08fire98.htm (Btw. the microsoft site has the only semi-sane CSR description I could get hold of. Short of the $100 IEC/ISO specs that is.) Andreas, maybe some of those links could be mentioned on the linux1394 homepage?
