converting AVI dv ?

Hi,

Regarding the DV-AVI formats produced by dvgrab (dv1 dv2), is there a way to 
convert it to a different format (divx,mpeg) ?

Is there a way to control the image resolution that is read in from a sony 
video camera ? I really don't need 720*576.
