Will that work? (Sony TRV110 with 16:9 format)

Hi there!

I'm rather new to all that stuff, even into video, so please don't
get angry when I start asking obvious stuff...

I bought a couple of months ago a Sony TRV 110 because I went on a trip
to Egypt. I took several cassettes but all in 16:9 format. 

- Will I be able to fetch them from the camcorder? ( I also have the
	Pinnacle Studio DV Card)
- Can I cut them under Linux?

Can anybody help me with that?
