I am using RedHat Linux 7.0 with a 2.2.16 kernel. following the instructions exactly, I have: cd /usr/src/ downloaded ieee1394-2.2.18-20001223 ln -s linux-2.2.16/ linux-2.2 zcat ieee1394-2.2.18-20001223 | patch -p1 It tells me: [root@pancakes src]# zcat ieee1394-2.2.18-20001223 | patch -p1 can't find file to patch at input line 4 Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option? The text leading up to this was: -------------------------- |diff -ruN linux-2.2.orig/CREDITS linux-2.2/CREDITS |--- linux-2.2.orig/CREDITS Sat Dec 23 03:54:34 2000 |+++ linux-2.2/CREDITS Sat Dec 23 03:56:18 2000 -------------------------- File to patch: What do I do?
