latest linux1394 patches?

G'day,

Are there a set of patches to bring 2.3.99-pre9 up to the latest ieee1394
code?  I've tried the exact instructions ( for cvs ) on the
linux1394.sourceforge.net page several times, but that mangles my kernel
source leaving it unable to compile.  I would try the 2.4.0-test series
but unfortunetly with the most vanilla of options fail to boot on my dell
inspiron 3700.
