Hi, I just joined this list.  I have run Linux on and off since about
1995, but the past few years have been running NT more often than
anything.  Since I recently got a DV camera and want to run it through
the Pinnacle Studio DV card I got, I had three choices.  Install Win98
over the Win95 partition I have and reboot when I need to use it,
install Win2k over NT since it supports firewire, or start running
Linux again.  Linux has come a long way since I was using it and I
really want to get back into it anyway, plus I was excited to see your
project.  So, I will be trying this out soon.

I am running Debian 2.2r2.  What software are you guys using for this?
I want to be able to make video files (probably mpeg) out of parts of
DV tapes.
