Hi Stefan, You're right about both: the WD has two 800 ports and the iMac has one 800 and one 400. I've tried using both 800 ports on the WD, and I tried buying a new 9 pin-9 pin cable to make sure the cable wasn't the issue. You're also right that I'm unable to boot into any other OS. I rant the tests you mentioned. Looks like the port might be dead, judging by the fact that not much happened even when I attached my MacBook.
