Hi, I'm struggling to get an external FW hard drive to work with a Dell Precision 2900, using a Belkin F5U503 3Port Fire wire adapter. The same drive does work when I replace the Belkin card with a SUNIX card. I can also get the Belkin Card and External Drive to play ball in a different PC running the same OS and kernel version. So this seems to be something specific to the combination in the PowerEdge 2900. Running the firewire-ohci, firewire-sbp2, firewire-core driver modules External Drive is a Toughtech MiniQ Drive enclosure, though other models of external FW drive are also not working.
