Since a few days we have the same camera (Sony DFW-VL500), but a = different host adapter card (Exsys 6500, ohci). - kernel 2.2.17 (Suse 7.0) - latest patch for ieee1394 module, libraw1394 (0.8.2) and libdc1394 = (0.2) (+ download of CVS sources) - coriander 0.0.8 (very nice GUI for using libdc1394) - samplegrab application from Chris Urmson=20 Be careful about the following when using samplegrab:=20 libdc1394 has been split up recently into a capture part and a control = part (and also .c files)! This change is not yet considered in samplegrab.c! = You have to replace the function call to dc1394_setup_camera with dc1394_setup_capture !!! With all this bleeding edge code we succeeded in capturing pictures = from the Sony camera. Interestingly we didn't succeed under Win2000/WinNT so far = :-() Now it would be nice to do that with DMA access (via video1394 rather = than raw1394), but there are no samples for using video1394 together with = libdc (coriander will do that in the future???)
