On my Sony DFW-VL500, I have not notice this impulse noise but I didn't
be care to this phenomena.
I will have a look and tell you.
You can try to take some snaps of a white paper and compute the mean
value for each pixel. If this value is the same for each pixel, but the
moise remains on each snap, than it is really an imulse noise (strange
for a digital camera!!). If some pixels have differents mean values, the
moise may come from the ccd matrix.
You can also look the yuv 422 format: four pixels are coded with only 2
u values and 2 v values. Try to acquire some images in 160x120 yuv 444.
