Dear all,
Linux kernel 3.6 has been released last Sunday. It brings a few small
fixes and optimizations to the firewire drivers
[http://marc.info/?l=linux1394-devel&m=134355348001969] and a new sysfs
attribute "/sys/bus/firewire/devices/fw[0-9]*/is_local" which can for
example be used to set special ownership of local nodes' /dev/fw* files
when they are created and launch target-like usermode drivers.
While there aren't many news to report about the firewire kernel drivers,
there is a big release of the FFADO project to celebrate: v2.1.0 of the
Free FireWire Audio Drivers has been released on September 18th, with
largely expanded hardware support and many improvements.

Enjoy,
