Dear all

I have 2 firewire harddrives on my linux box with
belkin IEEE1394 card. Distro is Suse 8.0 mit 2.4.18
kernel.

I've also created partitions on both drives and want
to use software raid 1 (mirroring) for higher
availability.

The problem I'm having is that I get loads of errors
like:

May 8 23:01:40 joshua1 kernel: ieee1394: sbp2:
aborting sbp2 command
May 8 23:01:40 joshua1 kernel: 0x2a 00 00 00 d6 3f 00
00 18 00

This error repeats itself about every 4min and
resynchronizing the RAID takes hours instead of
minutes. See /proc/mdstat below:

md0 : active raid1 sda1[0] sdb1[1]
10241280 blocks [2/2] [UU]
[>....................] resync = 0.2%
(23680/10241280) finish=14220.5min speed=11K/sec

Many thanks for your help.

Kind regards,
Rene

I seem to have the same problem (yes, I submitted 605632)
    some extra info:

The problem was not there on 2.4.8, I have used the same disks.

Question: what disks and what interface card are you using?

you can reach me at jeroen.vriesman@dynaserv.nl
