i have a p3-600 with 256mb of rambus. it seems that
when i use dvgrab or kino to capture, it garbles the
sound quite a bit and has frequent glitches in the
video quality. if i cut the quality of the video down
to about half, it can capture the sound perfectly but
obviously the image is hideous. i have in the past
(when i had windows on this machine) used it for
extensive capture, so i'm not inclined to think it is
the speed of the machine. are there any known
workarounds? i have worked extensively to get this far
and don't want to be met with failure. i have rebuilt
kernels, downloaded and upgraded numerous libraries and
devel files. please tell me something simple is wrong.
i started out with mandrake 8.1, but now have a 2.4.18
kernel, new gtk, glib, 1394 drivers, libavc etc.
thanks for the efforts to free software, thanks even
more for giving me an avenue for support! may the
ultimate intelligence increase your bandwidth for
success and happiness.
vance.
