Questo progetto si pone come obbiettivo quello di rendere un approccio semplice a chi è ancora titubante nel voler sperimentare per la prima volta una distro Linux senza doversi leggere miriadi di guide per addomesticarla alle proprie necessità ( cosa che con il dovuto tempo e la voglia di imparare le apprendereste sicuramente e magari superandoci in esperienza ) perchè prima o poi vi sentireste frustrati nell'incapacità di realizzare certe opearazioni per facilmente ritornare alle ... BETA proprietarie. Vorreste dirci che voi all'inizio della vostra esperienza open source non avete sperimentato miriadi di distro, come tutti del resto, cercando quella che vi consentisse in maniera agevole di assolvere alle vostre necessità per poi accorgervi che certe svolgevano certi compiti ma non altri e che per ottenere il risultato sperato avreste dovuto fare un'impossibile fusione di diversi sistemi operativi Unix. La situazione è tuttora così e non certo per colpa degli sviluppatori ma più per loro scelta e licenze varie, un qualsiasi utente novizio che impari autonomamente ad adoperare un PC non saprà cosa sia un driver, un'estensione, un codec cosa, java gli pare che fosse un'isola, un plugin, ecc...

Citazione da parte dei principali realizzatori di queste distro: a nostro modo di vedere sono ottime per qualsiasi tipo di utilizzo da subito, sotto il cofano c'è molto di più che 4 installazioni in padella e qualche ritocchino alla grafica. Usatele e col tempo vi renderete conto o meglio non vi accorgerete nemmeno delle operazioni preliminari che eravate abituati a fare ad ogni installazione ( gli utenti esperti lo noteranno ), ma se siete nuovi dell'argomento Linux vi garantiamo che alla terza difficoltà che incontrereste vi farebbe tornare a piangere da chi sapete già Mic... Mac... il nostro consiglio è sempre e comunque quello di provare una cosa per poi giudicarla. Purtroppo questo è il grosso vantaggio che hanno i sistemi operativi proprietari che denigrano i concorrenti sapendo benissimo che poi i nuovi utenti titubanti non ne verificheranno effettivamente la veridicità del dichiarato. Linux deve colmare questo gap facendosi scoprire ed apprezzare col tempo dovuto e senza rendere il percorso di apprendimento troppo ripido per chi utilizza il computer per le cose semplici della quotidianità. Non tutti vogliono minimamente divenire programmatori o di apprendere come certe cose veramente funzionino. Noi abbiamo cominciato a programmare in Basic con il Commodore C<64 per poi passase a: Amiga 500/1000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Me, 2000 NT, XP, Vista, Windows 7... Il nostro primo amore è stato Slackware, poi Red Hat con installer Anaconda e successivamente con Mandrake e al momento per gli utenti novizi sicuramente Ubuntu è una delle scelte obbligatorie. Queste distro sono il concentrato di tutta la nostra esperienza messa a disposizione della RETE per incentivare maggiormente la diffusione dell'open source e contiene quello che a nostro parere una normale distro ufficiale non ha e neppure potrebbe a causa di alcune licenze limitanti. Quello che vi garantiamo è che di sicuro Linux Webstartup non è uguale alle numerosissime Spin e fork di altre distro blasonate presenti sulla rete. Giudicate dopo averle sperimentate, non solo per il loro aspetto o per sentito dire.
