Hi James!! I'll send it to you next week. Now we are trying to solve a bug related wit= h=20 rt_cache and multiple VRFs with same IPs. We have also added a new feature to the patch. Now you can associate one=20 incoming label with a VRF and deliver IP traffic to the PE. El Wednesday 10 October 2007 12:48:58 James R. Leu escribi=C3=B3: > Glad to hear you're making progress. Hi everybody! I'm working in MPLS & VRF projects trying to merge them. I would like to inform all of you that we have merged them into a patch and probed it in a virtual scenario under 2.6.18.1 kernel. The scenario is based on IPv4 MPLS example (http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=31116&group_id=15443 ). We have added two more Hosts, one connected to LER1 and the second one to LER2. Then we have created two VRFs in both LERs, each one of them associated to one Host in each LER. Then we have tried to ping from one side of the network to the other side and it works fine. Now we are trying to implement a more complex scenario based on aggregated mode. I will send our patch to James next week if he wants. -- Saludos! Jon Ander |

Hi all! I'm testing 2.6.18.1 kernel patch and some doubts come to me. I'm trying to simulate a PE Router with 3 interfaces. One of them (interface 1) is connected to a MPLS Network, the other interfaces (interface 2 & 3) are connected to CE 1 and CE 2 respectively. I would like to create 2 VRFs, one of them including interface 2 and the other one including interface 3. The problem is that if I want to route traffic from interfaces 2 & 3 to the MPLS network, I have to associate interface 1 with both VRFs and as I know, we can only associate one VRF per interface. I have tried to create some virtual interfaces from interface 1 by using "ifconfig eth1:1", but I have seen that they are not real links, they don't appear when you use "ip link show" and that's why I can't associate them with different VRFs. Could any of you give me some ideas to solve the problem?? Thank you very much! -- Saludos! Jon Ander |

Hello We run a VPN-Concentrator where multiple VPNs terminate on a Cisco in seperate VRF instances. These VPNs are not reachable from the internet. Now in order to monitor inside these VRF instances, I'd like to setup a monitor host. I already setup linux-vrf, with multiple vrf instaces, which can reach the hosts inside those vrfs. Now I'd like to NAT certain ip's on vrf 0 eth0 to IPs inside a certain VRF. Lets say I have vrf 0: eth0: 192.168.10.1, 192.168.10.2, 192.168.10.3 vrf 1: eth1.1: 192.168.254.2 192.168.255.0/24 via 192.168.254.1 vrf 2: eth1.1: 192.168.254.2 192.168.255.0/24 via 192.168.254.1 vrf 3: eth1.1: 192.168.254.2 192.168.255.0/24 via 192.168.254.1 Now i want the following NATs: 192.168.10.1 vrf 0 <-> 192.168.255.10 vrf 1 192.168.10.2 vrf 0 <-> 192.168.255.10 vrf 2 192.168.10.3 vrf 0 <-> 192.168.255.10 vrf 3 Is this somehow possible? I believe the following is possible to do using Linux-VRF, but I'd like
some confirmation if at all possible. I think that I can make what I'm
wanting to do work if I make each "Context" be a different VRF. Am I
any where close?
With out going in to too much detail, I am effectively wanting to do the
following.
I want to be able to take traffic in from a local LAN on eth0 and route
it out eth1 to a default gateway with a static IP. I want said default
gateway with the static IP to be assigned to eth2. I then want to route
and masquerade traffic that came in eth2 out eth3.
(Enter ASCII art)
--------------+
Context 0 |
+------+ +-----------+
+---+ eth0 |------+ Local LAN |
| +------+ +-----------+
| |
| +------+
+---+ eth1 +---+
+------+ |
| |
==============|===|===
Context 1 | |
+------+ |
+---+ eth2 +---+
| +------+
| |
| +------+ +----------+
+---+ eth3 +------+ Internet |
+------+ +----------+
|
--------------+
Note: eth1 and eth2 are not real ethernet interfaces. They are
effectively tunnel like and are NOARP interfaces.
I want the ""router in context 0 to effectively (for the sake of
discussion) do basic static NAT routing for the local LAN. This router
will have two static IP addresses, LAN facing and upstream router facing.
I want the ""router in context 1 to effectively (for the sake of
discussion) do basic MASQUERADing for the equipment behind it. This
router will have one static IP facing the LAN and one dynamic IP facing
its upstream provider.

James Please do post the file and let us know where they are. Further, I have just completed making modifications to MPLS-linux 1.956 so it at least compiles with kernel 2.6.22-1.45 if test sgo well then I can move toward update the vrf-linux files toward its integration into the 2547bis roadmap.... Also, I have cat'ed all the kernel patch files, do I just post this file in my P4 root tree or move each modified file into tree? thanks..... James R. Leu wrote: > Some additional noteis.
