Just got a 320 and trying to get linux up and going.
Downloaded, patched an compiled 2.5.59 from this site.
I have a bzImage but have tried a vmlinux too. I have
prom version 5 (lots of 0s) and a rev 6J motherboard if
that helps.
Prepared all the boot disks etc. I get the problem where
the floppy light stays on forever and arclx says its read
50 bytes or so.
larc.exe is a broken link but managed to get it from
sgi's links. Doesnt seem to do anything though!
Any thoughts ? anyone !.
Regards
Brian
PS if anyone knows I also do not seem to be able to
access the "\" character when typing in new boot-up
configs. No problem any other time though. This is a
pain as this character seems to be important.

I've also got similar problems with an SGI 320. I've got it
booting fine on a 2.2 kernel, but can't get a 2.4/5/6 kernel
booted on it. It fails at the same step as you.
Haven't managed to get a backspace character either, but the
factory shipped entry contained one, so I just copied that...
