Log Message:
Start making the config stuff (for make {,menu,x}config) closer to where
we want to be.  Rather than use the config.in files in the arch-independent
portions of the tree, we will build our own config.in that just contains
entries for the hardware that we will be interested in.  Most of the other
arches to it this way as well.

Also remove some leftover cruft from the early days.
