#36 DVDRAM on firewire - can't write

I'm using kernel 2.4.30 and have UDF RW enabled.
I can write to a DVDRAM if it is on the IDE-bus but
when I mount the device on firewire I get an error stating
this is a "Read-only filesystem".

When using "mount" the device is reported as (rw).
Would appreciate any help.
