My laptop refuses to run cdrwtool. It keeps producing
the same error, no matter the inserted medium.

Initiating quick disc blank
wait_cmd: Input/output error
Command failed: a1 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 -
sense 05.24.00
blank disc: Illegal seek

The sense error is the same I used to have with cdrecord.

cdrecord: Success. blank unit: scsi sendcmd: no error
CDB: A1 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
Sense Bytes: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 24 00
00 00
Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x24 Qual 0x00 (invalid field in cdb) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 0.000s timeout 9600s

I found that cdrecord has support for SCSI IMMED flag,
and using this, fixes my problems with cdrecord. I
suspect that this would also fix the problem with
cdrwtool, and thus making UDF support available to a
lot of laptop users.

This is based on this report:
http://lists.suse.com/archive/packet-writing/2004-Oct/0033.html
Where the problem is explained by somebody else.

Please fix this or build in support for the SCSI IMMED
flag.
