Paraphrasing Ben Fennema thoughts of 2004-05-24:
Why the particular change that broke everything got
checked in?
The result was that the udf.ko of 2.6.6 and 2.6.5 Linux
often could ls / but not ls -l and not cd and so on,
when fed discs erased and written by Windows.
Whether some of 2.4 broke also, I do not know.
