I thought about that also and checked it but I can't see problem there
either.
We had the printf length modifier problems, manifested only on FreeBSD but
those were fixed in 1.8.3.

There were (are) cases when people first tried an older version that
couldn't yet relocate data then downloaded the recent one but they didn't
have the PATH environment variable set right or missed the './' before
ntfsresize in the current dir so they still used the old version, not what
they thought they use. The above sounds a bit like that case (limit for
the older versions is usually are around half of the partition size).
