Personally I think this was a very important thing to get done as soon as
possible in open source: today 60+% of the computer users have a Windows
variant using NTFS and in some years this will be even higher. When people
consider alternatives, the majority wants an easy, stable, free and
non-destructive way to install the new system(s) alongside the old one.
This isn't an issue anymore!
