Definitely but I can't guess by how much ...
An additional bigger size reduction would be if ntfsclone [optionally]
converts file names to very well compressible names. This would also have
another benefit: user privacy. File names can reveal private information. I
didn't think much about such _quick_ to implement algorithm.
The drawback, filenames and/or extensions can reveal useful information for
debugging ... e.g. how the file was created, potentially who created it,
etc. A compromise could be if the extensions [also optionally] would be
left unchanged.
