I guess you're using the recently released gcc 3.3. This is the patch that
SuSE uses to make ntfsprogs compile on SuSE 8.2 and I also sent it to Anton
two weeks ago but I didn't get any reply:

If you have gcc 3.3 you can also try to compile with the -fms-extensions.
