Yes, there is already an almost complete read-write driver [willing to beta
test? ;)] but it runs only on NetBSD, not yet Linux. The reason, NetBSD was
the development platform is that, it's the only non-Microsoft OS that have
been ported to the hardware architecture needed to satisfy Longhorn
resource requirements.

It's still a hype, for about 10 years? The latest leaked version of
Longhorn doesn't use WinFS as the native file system, well actually it's
not even available. WinFS is told to be based/derived from MS SQL Server.
