From a reliable source, NT4 SP3 has the backup bootsector in the end.

My experience on the percentage of users of the different Windows
versions based on ntfsresize feedbacks:
80-90+% XP
5-15 % W2K
< 1% .NET, aka Windows Server 2003. I've only got reports on .NET
not since it was renamed to W2K3 (or people still call it .NET?).
But I don't think the NTFS changed, it's the same as XP's.
Of course this % will grow.
1 i.e. one NT4 user
I just mention, where to focus :)
