Hello everybody !
I have a linuxdistro who works as follows (see topologi-linux.sf.net)
First it run a setup.exe in windows and create 2 files swap.img and base.img
the swap is a complete swapfile and the base.img is a file containing
just zeros
then it reboot (i have a bootable cd in) and the users choose setup and
can choose ext2 /ext2 /reiserfs system
The ntfs partition is then mounted then it run mke2fs or mkreiserfs on
the base.img file and the question is how safe is it to run theese to
program to a single file ??
when i used loosetup in the setup program it caused problemd with
partitions lager than 2 gig.. so i now mount the ntfs partition then
direct run mke2fs of mkreiserfs on the file then mount that file as
mount -o loop file /mnt is that dangerous to first run mke2fs then mount
up the file ??
As i heard from people at #ntfs on irc the "master" of this project are
very busy now and does not have any time left.. so a new release is very
far away.. is that right ?
For more info about my distro try it at http://topologi-linux.sf.net
I would be very happy if a very small update to version 2.1.0a should
been released soon.. Now new features.. just small bugfixes.. cause i
have discovered things on my ntfs partition now who seemes to be from
the 2.1.0 release..
please mail back on tob...@ho...
and thanks for a very good work everyone ! /Tobias
