Thanks for the bug report and sorry it's caused you trouble.

There are a couple of simple fixes:
  upgrade to 2.4.17 where Anton has removed the BUG();
  don't compile with DEBUG enabled
  remove the BUG(); (fs/ntfs/fs.c line 308) and the 'if' before it
