If i'd new you'd answer so fast, I'd wait a bit more... Now you see I made a backup image of the un-defraged (with Pd) with ntfsclone --save-image -o - /dev/hda1 | gzip -c... So I'd be happy to put it back and launch what I can to contribute to the project. BUT when I tried to move the 1.2GB hda1_img.gz on another drive, I got an I/O error (twice). Dunno if that will be usable at all :( All I know is that I'll try before I use the space made available with Pd7 + ntfsresize. Note that I did an e2fsck -c the day before on the partition where i saved the image.gz and it was clean. See, the matter is that you've got your priority and I have mine. But I thereby promise you that I'll try those commands if I can put back the image made with ntfsclne, as well than I'll wait for your input next time I encounter an issue while using on of your progs (I've got a small business and may use use it sooner or later). I also plan to www-publish in French what is achievable with some of ntfs-progs utilities at the right place (my website with 500 visites/day then fr.wikipedia.org where it isn't yet covered).
