Bad sectors can't be saved because they are absolutely unreadable, they are
hardware damages. The __list__ of the bad sectors is saved so the list can
be restored hence Windows won't try to use the dead disk surface anymore
to prevent data loss, system hangs, crash, disk explosion, etc.

Only if you replace your disk. Nobody can fix these from software because
they are hardware damages.
In the future we can add bad sector scanning support to ntfsck so they can
be reset on a new disk and/or ntfsclone could have a --reset-bad-sector-list
option.
