I assume what you're trying to do is use Linux to rename these files so your Windows box will start. The bad news is that you probably can't mess with these files: http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/info/ntfs.html#3.2 The good news is that you can recover your data using Linux then copy it over the network to a friend's PC or burn it on CD.
