Hello Krishna!
Ntfsclone indeed incorrectly handles bad blocks in the latest stable version,
1.9.4. However this issue was fixed long ago and you can get the fixes from here
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/snapshots/readme.html
or a statically linked binary from
http://mlf.linux.rulez.org/mlf/ezaz/ntfsclone-static-20040228.tgz
Please also note that there is a new option --rescue. It ignores read errors
so disks having bad sectors (dying disks, as you have) can be rescued. The content
of the cluster having bad sectors is filled by code '2' (this will change to
a readable character) and the start of the cluster is marked as "BadClusteR".
