Hi,
I am trying to make an image of ntfs partition (/dev/hda3) (created by windows
xp home edition installation, if that matters). I installed ntfsprogs-1.9.4-1
and tried
ntfsclone -so /mnt/freestore/winxp.img /dev/hda3
ntfsclone -o /mnt/freestore/winxp.img /dev/hda3
/mnt/freestore is ext3 filesystem on /dev/hda6. I am using
Mandrakelinux release 10.1 (Community) for i586
Kernel 2.6.8.1-10mdk on an i686
For both commands ntfsclone freezes at 75.06%. I ran chkdsk in winxp and it
showed that there are 32KB of bad blocks. Could it be possible that ntfsclone
keeps reading the bad blocks in an infinite loop?
regards,
Krishna.
