The info on the ntfs documentation is usually not up to date.
However, there has been little to no research on the logfile, so it is probably
the current knowlegde.
The logfile depends on a read/write functionality. You can't commit logfile
changes without ability to commit a change.
If I understand correctly, and you want to research that area, you're welcome.
At the moment, the driver checks the dirty bit to be clear on mount and refuses
if not.
It would be nice if when the volume is dirty we could check the logfile if there
are no uncommited transactions.
