hi,
i have a project that request ntfs read and write (limited, maybe), But i am
a newbie, and worried about how to begin my project based on your results and
documents.
I have some problems, please help me and you are appreciated.
(1) i use vmware, install win2003 and mandrake 10.1 both. under linux, i can
see the ntfs, but i can't overwrite it. Do i need to get source code and recompiled
the kernel in order to support limited writing? Could you give detailed steps?
(2) in linux, i use command 'dd' to create ntfs disk image, such as dd if=/dev/hda5
of=image.( BTW, hda5 is a ntfs volume, 16MB, can it be smaller? I partitioned
it under windows.) Then I return to win, and create a file, back to linux to
create another image. However when i compare them, my God, 45,000 differences.
Do you use this method, or I am stupidly wrong? Would you please inform me your
methods or some instruction on reverse-engineering? FAQ is a guideline, but
i need more help, such as your using tools, cracking environment and so on.
(3)you have said on the broad that the knowledge of ntfs is enough to realize
the complete write and read, just a problem of time. actually, if you had plenty
of time, how many month can you develope the availabe write version?
Your work and technology is very great! I do think i can learn a lot from your
work and site.
this is my mail, jus...@ho..., please contact me, thank you! :)
