Hi. I got a little problem: I made a backup of a ntfs winXP disk under linux.
The owner of the disk say that a subdirectory is missing. It is possible that?
The backup file is a tarball, it's of 1.2 GB, on an ext3 filesystem, the ntfs
was mounted readonly, and all the files to backup were located under 1 directory
only. This is the command I used: (BACKUP is the directory)
$ tar -cvzf /home/me/friend-bkp.tgz BACKUP
I'm new with linux, I just take some basic courses, and I don't know if is possible
a system fail or something, but there was no error on the exit. The system is
a debian sarge, with kernel 2.6.7.
