Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2777504 By: nobody hi, i'm trying to backuo a ntfs partition in order to restore it to an empty partition. i'm using a 40GB drive on external (usb) hd case (magnex) the disk had a full-size single ntfs partition I managed to use qt_parted from a recent knoppix (3.6?) and now i have a space free. i created a new small ntfs part from xp (5GB) and tried to backup it (/dev/sda2) to a ntfs.img image on a write-mounted (captive) ntfs partition, /dev/hda1, with: ntfsclone -0 -/mnt/hda1/ntfs.img /dev/sda2 but i get an error like: Error(1): Write failed: Operation not permitted any hints? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
