Well, you mixed and matched quite a few things, as most people with 2 days expirience
would do, so let me try to explain:
1) yes and no.
burning with knoppix can be done via k3b (Similar to Nero) or nautilus (the
gnome file manager). I'm not sure which one can burn DVDs though.
But You will need to create the NTFS image before burning, and that requires
some HD space on a place other than the partition you are backing up. You can
use disk space over network for that or a different partition.
2&3) You do not need a RPM for knoppix, These are for RedHat/Fedora only. Knoppix
has build in support and should identify your partitions automatically.
