Here is a workaround for problems when you share folders on ntfs partitions
using nfs under Fedora Core 2 (Kernel 2.6.5-1.358) until a newer kernel
is released.
Problems occur, when the size of a shared directory is 0. This happens, when
there are only few files or only a subdirectory with a too short name in it.
If such a directory is accessed via nfs the nfs daemon will hang.
The workaround is to copy a small file with a long filename into the affected
folders (e.g.:
this_file_is_intended_for_nfs_sharing_and_should_be_long_enough) using your
windows operating system. Check the size of the ntfs directory again under Fedora
Core 2 after mounting the partition and it should be 4096 or more.
