Your dmesg output shows that your hdb disk uses the OnTrackDisk
Manager on the disk. 2.6 kernels do not support this kind of disk
manager any more automatically.
According to the Large disk howto (http://tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/
Large-Disk-HOWTO/#s8) you need to boot with the "hda=remap63" option
added to your kernel command line to get your disk to work.
This is nothing to do with the NTFS driver but with the kernel's
support for your disk...
