Frank, thanks for the config file for the INES pcmcia card (I should have 
read the pcmcia-howto -that info is in there!!...).

``cardmgr'' now recognizes the card:

BUT, I still can't get ``ibtest'' to see my scope!

[root@erebus linux-gpib]# ./examples/ibtest
enter primary address for device [0-30]: 1
trying to open pad = 1 on /dev/gpib0 ...

               -- errno=19 (No such device)
failed to bring device online
failed to get descriptor

I notice that the driver that is loaded is ``ines_pci'' - should that be 
``ines_pcmcia''?  If that is the problem how do I get cardmgr to load the 
right thing?  If that isn't the problem... ??
