[Linux-gpib-general] Agilent 82357A/B and Ubuntu

Hi,

    I'm trying to get an Agilent 82357A working with the gpib-linux 
drivers on Ubuntu with the gpib libraries installed from the apt-get 
repositories.

    I have the firmware uploaded the firmware and configured the 
/etc/gpib.  I'm getting the following error:

failed to open device file '/dev/gpib0'
main: No such device or address

    Does anyone have any ideas?

How are you loading the firmware? That device has a two-phase
initialization that is a bit tricky to get working. I had set it up in
the past with custom USB hotplug rules, but I think udev rules would be
better now.
