From what I remember I did a make dep ... I will test again ... 
I also tested the i810fb with fbtest and worked ok.
If is needed I can post the results from fbtest -v -d.

Also I couldn't change the resolution with fbset the screen remain blank
whatever resolution-refresh I choose.
Another problem is when changing the consoles some lines apear for a short
amount of time - 1 sec or less.

My kernel is a 2.4.6 - and the chipset is i815.
