It should not be to difficult to make that work, as you can see the 
patch does litle more than removing the shadow at the end of the display 
and making the cursor start a the (real) beginning  of a line.  Please

I'm not sure if this would work. I did some tweaking using fbset and 
modeline utility to make the modedb.c entry for the Vaio C1VE lcd. I 
don't thing it is easy to automate this procedure.
