If you have only one VGA device in your box, do not compile vgafb. If you have more than one VGA device, and they are all Matroxes, do not compile vgafb. If you have more than one VGA device, and only some of them are Matroxes, you must make Matrox your secondary device, as vgafb does handle only primary devices.
