Hello: I'm running XF86_FBDev on a JavaStation Krups (essentially a diskless Sparc) mounting a RedHat 6.2 root file system. While XF86_FBDev basically works, I'm left with some annoyances :-( (1) When I start X, everthing works just fine except that I have a small white border (the color seems to be the one of the Krups' boot screen) around the X desktop. My Monitor is a Sony 420GS. How do I get rid of the border? Does the XF86_FBDev X server look at ModeLine entries in XF86Config's section "Monitor". The sample config file from ultralinux.org has some ModeLine entries, but they are commented out. At this point, I don't have any ModeLine entries. Any suggestions? (2) X comes up with 1024x768 pixels. I'd like to run 1280x1024 pixels. Where is this specified? Is it a mode entry in XF86Config's section "Screen"? Or is it rather a kernel parameter? Would fbset help here? (3) Also, my monitor says it's running at 60Hz. I really would like to have a more ergonomic refresh rate of, say, 75Hz. Again, is this done by a ModeLine entry, a kernel parameter or fbset? Thanks! -Bernd |
