Subject: Regarding writing a framebuffer driver
I wanted some help regarding writing a framebuffer driver for Xfree86 and linux.
As i am not familiar with xfree86 architecture, it is been a real difficult task to understand the flow.
Basically i am looking at the places where it is writing to the framebuffer and how it is updating etc. And how it interacts with the linux framebuffer driver.
As the driver that i am to write has to later send this data to the LCD over USB.
The idea is to hook a command flush at the point where it writes to the buffer when changes occur and form a pack with the data to be written to the video card register and send it over usb to the LCD.
It will great, if you give some information as to how this frambuffer driver interacts.
